This place was super cool. Their menu is designed to be small plates and to be shareable with everyone at your table. They do have a couple sandwiches like a burger or a fish sandwich if that's more your vibe. My mom, my sister and I did a bunch of small plates. Their menu does change but we got the tuna, Spanish chopped salad, polenta and crispy cauliflower! They were all super super good and I loved being able to have a little bit of everything. The portions are small even tho it is a tapa (2 dishes would not be enough for two people in my opinion) and because it is small i believe it is a little pricey.

Great little spot. Loved sitting at the bar and watching the chefs behind the bar make the food. Service was fabulous. This is a small plates restaurant which is great because you can try lots of things. The real standout for me was the halibut. Cooked to perfection atop mushrooms and a smashed potato. It was flavorful and soooooo good. The carrots were also really delicious- the cinnamon and star anise paired with the goat cheese made it extra tasty. The tuna crudo was just average, even with adding caviar. I'm a tuna snob, so it's probably just me. I was super happy with everything else, can't recommend this place enough!

Recommended by everyone. They knew what they were talking about because honestly when I saw the menu I did not find anything I like. But we (the group) gave it a try we all got one item to share tapas style . OMG our brains had deceived us because our taste buds were jumping for joy. It was a mixture of sweet and salty . Just good ideas all around , can't go wrong. And by the time we were done - we were all Lost for words. Not sharing the choices we made on purpose go yourself and enjoy! Did I mention it a cute little location nothing to but very intimate and very friendly.

I took my wife here to celebrate our anniversary. It's been on my bucket list for a while and we were both very impressed by our visit. The restaurant is focused on small plates to share and based on our server's recommendation we chose four plates; two cold and two hot. We started with a beet salad which was matched with an avocado purée that was surprisingly good. The next cold dish was a peekytoe crab served on a miso pancake which I found amazing. Our first hot dish was the scallop toast which featured an Asian twist. One of the highlights of our meal was the suckling pig which was decadently rich and set off nicely with an apple butter and marcona almonds. It also featured a nice crispy edge which was a nice addition. The big surprise of the night was my wife's last minute decision to get dessert. She ended up ordering the strawberry shortcake, which was absolutely incredible. I am not even sure how to describe it because it certainly was not a traditional shortcake... nevertheless an amazing contrast of flavors and textures, not too rich and not too sweet. Our server Hazel was wonderful, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant space is attractive, yet very small. At times we felt like we were seated at the same table as our immediate neighbors since we were all listening and contributing to each other's conversation. Overall an excellent experience and look forward to returning.

One of the very kind locals recommended we try this place before heading back home and we are glad we did. This place is very unique because it's small plates. I do feel I would get full if I came here for dinner.we came here a few hours after a light dinner. The staff is very friendly and we sat downstairs at the bar. The bar tender gave us great recommendations and made us some lovely non alcoholic cocktails and beers. The vibe is lively and busy. We ordered the slaw pancake and the beet salad as well as the French fries, eel and pork. Everything was so different. If I lived closer I would come there often to try all of the little dishes. The effort in creating dishes that are so unique is no short of incredible!

It's worth the hype! We made reservations and were promptly seated. Our server, Adam, was excellent and he provided some good menu options. With the two of us, we ordered about 5 items and it was perfect amount of food. The place is a cute spot with open kitchen and we loved it ! Coffee and biscotti - French press and hit the spot for brunch. Tuna crudo - excellent quality fish locally sourced. We did fine it a bit saucy but it was gobbled up pretty quickly. Beet salad - loved it ! Fresh and a bit more dressing than I like but still supremely flavorful. Cornbread - this was probably the best cornbread I have tasted. Perfectly fluffy and buttery. And with honey. Just hits a good note. Crab cake slider (special) - my fav. It had a spicy edge to it and well balanced. I may need to go back for more !

Central Provisions is a gem known for its creative small plates and elevated atmosphere. The interior is rustic chic, which is also reflected in their distinct black sign high above the cobblestone streets. On my visit, I couldn't resist trying the Okonomiyaki hash brown, which is a twist on a classic breakfast dish. It was very crispy and packed with flavor, and incredibly filling despite the majority of dishes being tapas-style. The CP fries were equally impressive; the perfect blend of crunchy and fluffy, with a delicious sauce on the side. While the service was excellent, the one drawback was the restaurant's dim lighting. The ambiance, while stylish, was quite dark, and the lighting did not make up for it.

Just had the most beautiful lunch here for my friends birthday today. Our waitress was fun and adorable and I feel terrible for forgetting her name, but she was definitely a great addition to our experience. Their Bloody Mary is not on their cocktail menu but it's certainly a must have with its nice clean kick and kimchi garnish. We stayed with the oysters, marinated in ssamjang and topped with a cilantro apple sorbet and crispy fried onion. They were spectacular, but I could've done with a little less of the sorbet. It was just hard to chew and enjoy the oyster because there was so much of it and it was so cold. And I can't leave this place without getting the spicy beef salad, OMG!! This little bowl of heaven could very easily be my last meal and die happy. It's the perfect balance of flavors, sweet, spicy and nutty. The cilantro keeps it clean and bright. I could eat an entire bucket of it! The bread and butter was good, could've done without it. It's basically a space filler that could've been filled with something tastier. The Spanish chopped salad, VERY good, but kind of a little too creamy and sweet. The dressing was on the miraculous whip side, it really could've benefited from acidity. Caramelized scallops, guys, one, one, ONE scallop cut into 4 pieces for $24.......come on. It was good, it's was damn near delightfully perfect. But that is straight up highway robbery. I was insulted. I was expecting at least two scallops, two would've been fine, acceptable at least. The bone marrow toast is so rich and cheesy, maybe too cheesy, you kind of loose the bone marrow. Bone marrow is definitely rich enough to stand on its own, again another dish that could benefit from some acidity. Or even send it out deconstructed without the cheese and some other accompaniments for you to use at your discretion. Don't get me wrong it was still lovely, just teetering on too rich. Fried Maine grains polenta, OMG! I could live off this and the spicy beef salad happily for the rest of my life. The outside is so crispy and compliments the soft pillowy inside so perfectly. The honey, the chèvre, the fennel, pure perfection, thank you for that dish. Few things in life succeed to this level of perfection. Foie gras torchon, it's basically a circle of cold but melty butter on top of what I can only describe as crispy crunchy mini french toast. This is a sweet dish, perfect for the end of the meal, it's not too sweet but could definitely fill the spot of a dessert. Not something to pass over that's for sure. Seared sheep's cheese......eh, it just tastes burnt. There were apples seared into it, looked gorgeous, but maybe just a little over cooked. I've never had it so I'm not sure how it was supposed to be, but I assume that's not it.

Wow, just wow. The best food I've had in months. We tried 8-10 items on their very expansive menu, and were impressed by all. The standouts were the beets (we also got one to go). The sourdough, tuna, peekie toe crab (neptune oyster jonnycakes vibes), and the cantaloupe sorbet! We loved that this place was open late and was willing to accommodate us walk-ins. The drinks were bomb and we enjoyed the service too. All around amazing with a great location that was right in the heart of downtown! We will be back!
